The performance of any pavement or floor slab is fundamental to the end-user this applies equally to highways, airfield pavements and industrial floors. Key performance aspects are load capacity, flatness and durability.
We are established internationally as one of the leading experts in the design of both external and internal slabs and have been involved in extensive research and development with specialist flooring contractors and material suppliers, including full-scale load tests. Our work in the area of slabs reinforced with structural fibres in lieu of traditional mesh is of particular note. We were represented on the Concrete Society Committee that produced Technical Report 34 and are currently involved in the preparation of the forthcoming Concrete Society external pavement design manual.
We offer advice on loading assessments and act as expert witness on defective floors.
